Lab-grown VS Natural (Mined) Diamonds.

Today,  lab-grown diamonds are recognized as a dazzling mining-free alternative to natural diamonds. And why not? Lab-grown diamonds have the same physical and chemical properties as mined diamonds, which means they are just as hard and just as durable. And they display the same optical characteristics as natural diamonds--exhibiting the same fire and sparkle. Lab-created diamonds may exhibit different trace elements than natural diamonds (which do not affect their appearance). And these can only be detected using specialized equipment. The only noticeable difference between them is their origin: one was formed deep within the earth, the other was grown in a lab. Because lab-made diamonds have the same quality as natural diamonds,  they are graded on the same criteria (the 4 Cs: CUT, CLARITY, COLOR & CARAT weight) and can achieve the same levels of brilliance and beauty as natural diamonds.  



How Are Lab-grown Diamonds Made?

Scientists have thwarted Mother Earth AND Father Time by mimicking the process of natural diamond formation in as little as six to ten weeks. Lab-grown diamonds (also known as lab-created, man-made, or engineered diamonds) are produced in highly controlled environments using advanced technology that duplicates the conditions under which diamonds naturally develop beneath the earth’s crust. These lab-created diamonds consist of actual carbon atoms arranged in the characteristic diamond crystal structure, which is why they exhibit the same optical and chemical properties as natural diamonds. What Are The Benefits of Lab-grown Diamonds?

Value: Lab-grown diamonds can be produced in large batches in just a few weeks. This makes lab-grown diamonds considerably less expensive than natural diamonds of comparable size and quality. Quite simply, lab-grown diamonds give you more bling for your buck (no matter your budget).

Beauty & Quality. Lab-grown diamonds shine and sparkle just like natural diamonds. And from a “4 Cs” perspective (the grading scale by which ALL diamonds are graded), lab-grown diamonds just boast a higher level of quality.

An Ethical Choice: Today, both natural and lab-made diamonds are excellent choices for “ethical diamonds.” But for those who’d prefer stones that were not mined, lab-made diamonds are your answer.
